Often when agency managers find themselves struggling with recruiting, they will either look outside for some excuse to justify their position or they will look for a magical answer to fix it. I've found that the answers are back at the start -- in the fundamentals or the basics. Perhaps looking for the answers outside is why manager terminations are the highest in the third year of their tenure.
From my observations of successful managers, I believe that the following components are vital to recruiting success.
BELIEF This is the first and most basic component. It includes not only a belief in the miracle of paper and ink, but also a strong belief in the value of the career we have to offer in insurance sales. All of the truly successful managers I have met and observed believe 110 percent in the career they are offering. They are personally excited about the opportunities it affords.
