The army has said it has killed 20 Lord's Resistance Army rebels in a combined infantry and air force combat operation in Pader district.

The army said the rebels were killed on Tuesday afternoon north of Patongo sub-county.

The army spokesman in the northern region, Lt. Chris Magezi, said the rebels were commanded by Col. Lapaicho.

"We killed 20 rebels while three were captured by our forces. We are yet to confirm, but we suspect that one of the dead rebels is a senior …
