California firm may build $6.5 million center here; buyout marks Zetley's exit
GranCare Inc., a California-based long-term care provider that owns 14 facilities in Wisconsin, has acquired four more skilled nursing centers, including three in the Milwaukee area, for $16.5 million.
The facilities -- North Shore Health Care Center, Bayside; Family Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center Inc., Milwaukee; Hillside Health Care Center Inc., Milwaukee; and Ashland Health Care Center, Ashland -- were owned by Milwaukee real estate investor Marvin Zetley.
The sale, finalized April 30, marks Zetley's exit from the nursing home business. At one time, he owned up to 25 nursing homes throughout Wisconsin.
