When National Association of Manufacturers President John Engler gave his group's blessing to Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, he didn't just say Alito was a good pick. Engler said Alito was one of the best nominees ever.
"Judge Alito clearly has one of the most distinguished records of any nominee to the Supreme Court in our time or any other time," he said earlier this month.
NAM believes Alito's disdain for judicial activism would result in less intrusive and more predictable rulings for business.
