Job search shouldn't slow during the holidays, professionals say.

Dec. 24--Tim Hines has been searching for a good job for nearly three years, and he's not about to slow down just because it's the holidays.

"Everybody thinks that the holidays are a down time for looking for work, but it's actually a great time for networking and putting your business card in front of people," Hines said this week at the JobLink office based within Goodwill Industries in Winston-Salem.

Hines, 54, said he is pursuing a job as a professional driver with a motor-coach line, a bus company or even as a long-distance hauler for a NASCAR team in the Carolinas.

He had a good job as a chauffeur but lost that three years ago. Since then, he's only worked sporadically, and is trying to find a job with good pay and benefits.
