The Infiniti Pro Series had a new look in 2005, as five of the top six finishers in the standings were rookies.
Wade Cunningham, 21, was the most successful of those, winning the championship with a season-capping win at California Speedway. The race win was his first in the series and gave Brian Stewart Racing its first Pro Series title. Cunningham held onto the lead despite being docked 15 points for blocking on the last lap. His margin over second-place Jeff Simmons, a series veteran, was 30 points.
