Text of report by Russian Channel One TV on 13 December
[Presenter] One of the oldest parties in Russia, the Democratic Party of Russia, is preparing for its congress scheduled on 17 December. Deputies will decide the question about the leadership of the party. Former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov is a candidate for the post of its leader. Other party members can also provide competition to him - they are not as well known but they enjoy respect in primary organizations.
