THE CRUCIAL CD COLLECTION THERE's no doubt that, in principle, no CD collection worth the name should be without something by John Lennon that's not also by the Beatles. Somehow, though, my own, which includes both the Texas Chainsaw Orchestra, where every instrument played is obtainable at a good hardware store, and the Yoko Ono box set, contained no Lennon album until the recent release of the double disc Working Class Hero compilation to commemorate, apparently, the 25th anniversary of Lennon's death.
