Debate over the empowerment of women as part of the development process of a nation has been and continues to be an issue which has generated a lot of controversy the world over. It's therefore not surprising that, women advocacy groups like ABANTU for development, African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA), the Women and Juvenile Unit (WAJU) and the African Development Fund (AWDF) as well as other individuals are doing all in their power to achieve this.
