Good morning. I'd like to begin by thanking the ASTA board for the invitation here. I'm very pleased to be with you.
As you can tell, I'm not a native of St. Louis, Monsanto's headquarters city. Although a big piece of my life there, I'm originally from Scotland. And in my first few years in agriculture at the beginning of my career, I visited a small farm in the north of Scotland to meet a very unhappy farmer. And he started by asking me if I was an expert in agriculture. You can see where this is going. And I said, no, but I was trying my best to learn--but why did he ask? And he said an expert is somebody that is more than 100 miles from home with a briefcase. ...
