Section: General News - Southern Thailand will feature prominently in the development of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand-Growth Triangle (IMT-GT), a move which many quarters hope will bring peace dividends to the country's restive South from accelerated economic growth in the sub-region.
The Thai government has expressed its intention to include all the country's 14 southern provinces into the development of the IMT-GT from the current eight.
Currently, Songkhla, Satun, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang and Phattalung have joined the sub-regional grouping.
