Nobel laureates look to future

Scientists must be willing to challenge accepted norms and strive to unlock the unknown world in order to nurture their originality and creativity, Nobel laureates stressed at a science session in Tokyo on Nov. 17.

The theme of the session was "Exploring New Frontiers in Science" and three Nobel laureates were in attendance: Masatoshi Koshiba, who shared the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physics; Linda Buck, who won the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine; and Ryoji Noyori, who was awarded the 2001 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
