Dec. 9--Government economists at the Fiscal Policy Office must improve their work and research activity to better assist policymakers, according to Finance Minister Thanong Bidaya.
Dr Thanong, who addressed 200 FPO officials yesterday, urged the agency to change its methodology and eliminate bias in its operations.
"What I fear is that C-8 officials, who represent the heart of the civil service, will only think about how to become C-9 and spend their time lobbying for promotion rather than thinking," he said.
