Dec. 9--Cellular giant Advanced Info Service has earmarked $400 million (16 billion baht) to upgrade its network for third-generation (3G) services and improve its existing infrastructure next year.
The funds will be split equally between 3G upgrades and 2G network maintenance.
Chief executive officer Somprasong Boonyachai confirmed that the company could fully finance its investment plans without the need to bring in new partners or allow strategic partners bigger stakes.
