Responses to our DoubleTake between the MX-5 and Solstice saw some supporting our Pontiac win, but many more shunning our selection in favor of the Mazda.

I can't agree with the verdict completely. I'll give you the exterior looks, but the interior design is embarrassing. I'll take the lighter weight, proven reliability and long-term value retention of the Mazda.

Mike Bergthold, Phoenix

If performance is anything as close as the article says, then give me the Solstice. Style points go heavily in the Pontiac's favor.

My new MX-5 is everything I expected and more. The Pontiac is sexy, but I doubt the quality and reliability can match the Miata. Let's do a long-term test on both cars and see which holds up best.

Jim Velto, Valparaiso, Ind.
