Dec. 8--Thailand will consider leaving rice out of an Asean-South Korea free trade agreement if Seoul offers appropriate concessions in return, according to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak.
The Thai government pledged on Tuesday that it would not sign the proposed Asean-Korea pact because it excluded rice.
This came ahead of Monday's Kuala Lumpur meeting between leaders.
Dr Somkid declined to elaborate on what Thailand wanted in return from South Korea in exchange for excluding rice from the agreement.
