Dec. 7--And now for another episode of the iPod video-playing phenomenon:

NBC Universal and Apple Computer said Tuesday that they have signed a deal to make 11 popular and classic NBC TV shows available for download on Apple's iTunes music store.

NBC is the latest television network to join the trend of offering consumers portable video content.

In October, Apple unveiled an addition to its popular iPod family of digital music players -- an iPod that plays video. The Cupertino company also announced a deal with Walt Disney's ABC network to offer five popular, full-length TV shows for download on iTunes for $1.99 an episode. Included in the show list were the popular "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost."
