WHY SHE BECAME A DESIGNER: I loved handbags, but not the It bags. They were always black and brown leather--so heavy. I liked square-shaped straw bags. I thought, I could interpret this shape using pink fabrics--tweed, seersucker, herringbone, burlap, and nylon. The square would keep it strong, but the pink fabric would take the hard edges off of it."
DREAM INSPIRATION TRIP: "I've been dying to drive cross-country, even with the baby. I'm interested in Wyoming. Wide-open spaces, animals running free--wow."
