* Yeala, we know, usually it's your guy who's doing the apologizing. But on the rare occasion that you "re in the wrong, try these chill-him-out tricks--instead of that cute, pouty look.
Give Him Some Space
So you've hurt your guy. No need to push for forgiveness right away. Men require time to decompress--solo. Take it from Gabe *, 33: "If nay girl tries to force a reconciliation before I've had time to calm down and think things over, I say stuff I regret," he says. "I have to walk away to clear my head. By the time I come back, I'm usually over it." Like Gabe, most men suffer from anger amnesia. Give a guy space and he'll forgive and forget soon enough.
Pump Him Up
You've probably heard "Flattery will get you nowhere." Not true. Piling on the praise will get you everywhere with your guy. You see, guys don't get a lot of positive reinforcement. So when you heap on the compliments, it catches him off guard and pulls the plug on his pain. Learn from the girlfriend of Marc, 23: "I was bummed when Sara and I bumped into an ex of hers and she failed to introduce me to him as her new boyfriend," he says. "But when he walked away and Sara said 'I don't know what I ever saw in him. You're the best thing that ever happened to me,' I could barely keep from smiling."
