Dec. 7--Thai stocks rallied 2.92 percent yesterday as investors snapped up blue-chips in light of easing political tension and better-than-expected economic data.
At the same time, oil prices resumed an upward trend, encouraging investors to buy large-cap energy stocks again.
The SET index closed at 679.16 points, up 19.25, on improved turnover of 18.8 billion baht. Energy stocks led gains, rising 4.31 percent for the day, while banks were up 2.95 percent and communications 3.28 percent.
