Dec. 7--Thai Airways International Plc has concluded a contract to manage Bangladesh's Shah Amanat International Airport as part of its strategy to develop a new business built around its core skills.
The national carrier won the bid to manage the airport in Chittagong for 10 years at a cost of US$9.06 million, beginning on Feb 1 next year.
Though the Bangladesh cabinet approved the bid result in June last year, the final agreement was only signed in Dhaka last week by THAI acting president Somchainuk Engtrakul and Air Commodore Harun Chowdhury, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.
