Dec. 3--The Thai operation of New York Life Insurance could overtake its Mexican peer by 2007 as the top sales performer outside the United States, according to New York Life's chairman and CEO.
The largest life insurer in the US sees a bright future for its international markets and high potential for growth of its local unit, Siam Commercial New York Life (SCNYL), said Sy Sternberg.
"The year isn't over, but we're projecting a 15 percent increase in sales [internationally] over 2004 and very strong revenue growth in all our operations," he said during a visit to Thailand this week.
