Napier University in Edinburgh has overhauled its intranet to make it more manageable and easy to use.
The university has been struggling with a "variety of intranet sites", using different technologies, which were developed by different schools, said Geraldine Rowe, project manager at Napier. Staff had difficulties finding documents, and there is no system in place to ensure documents are kept up to date.
The new intranet, which is being implemented in conjunction with Diagonal Solutions, will become a one-stop shop for staff. "We wanted to consolidate the information into one system," said Rowe, adding that information was scattered over a number of locations.
