Dec. 6--The Stock Exchange of Thailand now expects only 50 new companies to list on the capital market this year, including a number likely to switch over to the smaller Market for Alternative Investment due to more relaxed listing criteria.
The SET had earlier projected 60 new listings for the whole year. For the first 10 months of the year, 21 companies have listed on the SET and five on the MAI.
Sopawadee Lertmanaschai, a SET executive vice-president, acknowledged that only 50 companies were likely to enter the market for the year, down from 60.
