Dec. 6--Rapidly expanding Gulf airlines are creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs worldwide and adding billions of dollars to the global travel and tourism GDP as they become major movers of people and goods through their hubs in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

They were at full steam ahead at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London last month.

Between them Etihad, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Gulf Air announced plans to put Hong Kong, Nairobi, Madrid, Berlin, Manchester, Johannesburg, Dublin and New York (twice daily) on their routes this winter season.
