Icahn's next play: Fairmont bid
The tycoon investor, who's currently involved in a high-profile dispute with Time Warner's board, said he plans to acquire 51% of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts for $1.19 bil. If he can obtain the stake for about $40 a share, Icahn said he will push to sell the chain to a bigger rival. Icahn already owns 9.3% of Fairmont. Fairmont rose 4.5% to 40.60 and has gained 32% since late Oct.

Google execs cash in for $4.3 bil
14 Google executives and directors have pocketed billions of dollars selling 18.6 mil of their shares this year. Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin each collected $1.3 bil by selling 5.3 mil shares, SEC records show. Other notable payouts went to Omid Kordestani, Google's senior VP of sales, $559.6 million; Eric Schmidt, Google's CEO, $344.7 million; and David Drummond, Google's VP of corporate development, $118.7 million. Google rose 1% to 417.70.
