Dec. 2--German engineering giant Siemens is preparing to compete with international bidders for contracts for a 10-line integrated mass-transit rail system worth 550 billion baht initiated by the Thai government.
"We are closely monitoring the issue's development. What we want to know firstly is the terms and conditions of the bidding process," said Lothar Herrmann, the newly-appointed president and chief executive officer of Siemens Ltd.
