Dec. 1--The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has been asked to revise next year's targets for foreign tourist arrivals to 13.2 million from 15.12 million by Pracha Maleenont, the Tourism and Sports Minister.
On Tuesday, the TAT, the state tourism promotion agency, announced a foreign tourist arrival target of 15.12 million tourist arrivals for 2006, with estimated revenues of 533 billion baht.
But Mr Pracha said the figure was unlikely to be met as foreign tourist arrivals this year are projected at just 12 million, or 1.38 million lower than the original target of 13.38 million.
