Dec. 1--Listed companies are expected to spend 180 billion baht on new investment to expand production capacity in 2006, according to Bualuang Securities.
Chaiyaporn Nompitakcharoen, the company's first vice-president for investment strategy, said manufacturing utilisation, currently as high as 76 percent, had prompted several listed companies to increase new investment to expand production capacity.
"But some have put their plans on hold for lack of confidence in economic and political circumstances," he said.
