Respondents consider traction and stability control beneficial to most motorists, but believe enthusiasts should have the option of disabling these systems.

The general public benefits from driver aids that can't be turned off. Many drivers are like alcoholics; they don't admit they need help until it's too late.

John Dimock, Studio City, Calif.

I am a fan of electronic stability aids because such systems save lives. In bad weather or traffic, you might be too relaxed or distracted, and to have an advantage in making an emergency maneuver is good.

RMcG, forums.autoweek.com

Scott Linn, Corvallis, Ore.
