With Eastern Europe becoming a more appealing region to sell U.S. mutual funds, Franklin Resources looks to cash in.
The investment management company is best known for its Franklin Templeton family of mutual funds.
Over the years, Franklin has expanded its international presence by setting up foreign sales offices or developing products tailored to specific countries. It also has a special group of funds it sells to foreign investors.
Franklin distributes its products in Italy, South Korea, Japan, India, Iberia and other countries. On July 12 it added Poland to the lineup.
In Poland, Franklin sells 44 of its Luxembourg-domiciled SICAV funds within the Franklin Templeton family. SICAV funds are similar to funds Franklin offers in the U.S., but they're set up so they can be sold overseas to foreign investors.
