India seeks 10% growth in bid for 'superpower' status International Affairs Editor NEW DELHI India, whose economy is expected to grow 7,5% this year and over the next four, is reaching for a growth target of 10% above that of economic giant China. In a speech yesterday at the Indian Economic Summit, organised by the World Economic Forum and the Confederation of Indian Industry, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said it was certainly within the realm of possibility that an appropriate combination of policies could raise the country's growth rate beyond 8%.
