Thailand: Federation of Thai Industries wants Thai companies to spend more on training.

Section: General News - Business leaders have urged the government to push all companies big and small to budget funds for training in order to strengthen the country's competitiveness, the Bangkok Post reports.

"Investment in human resources should be a national agenda item and apply to all companies like the social security fund," said Praphad Phodhivorakhun, chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).

He said that under current regulations, only companies with more than 200 employees are encouraged to earmark funds for training programmes.

Such rules do not encourage companies to put much more effort …
