Raccoon dog gives police the run around in Akihabara.

Police were led on a 40-minute chase through Tokyo's Akihabara electronics district after a raccoon dog was reported in the area and officers scrambled to catch it, law enforcers said Monday.

A man spotted the raccoon dog, which measured about 60 centimeters in length, under a bridge over the Kanda River in Tokyo's Chiyoda-ku at about 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, and reported the creature at a local police box.
