By no stretch of the imagination is Ruben Patterson a franchise player. Through seven years' worth of toiling for three different teams, he has never averaged more than 27.9 minutes, 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. He's set to receive a modest $13.16 million from Portland over the next two seasons and, at 30, isn't likely to amass numbers normally associated with all-stars for the remainder of his pro career.
