Corinne Bailey Rae is fast becoming a name to watch for 2006 after a limited-edition three-track sampler, intended as a low-key introduction to the Leeds-born artist, took on a life of its own by catching the ears of radio and TV executives alike.
Since EMI serviced the sampler--led by the track Like A Star--six weeks ago, Bailey Rae has been playlisted on Radio Two and Capital FM, performed on Later With Jools Holland and was last week added to Radio One's Upfront playlist. In addition, Like A Star has been record of the week for Radio One's Jo Whiley and Colin & Edith over two successive weeks.
