President Robert Mugabe has called for the United States to be stripped of its control on the Internet addressing system to allow individual countries to have some control in order to deal with "Internet terrorism".

At the opening of the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis, on Wednesday [16 November], Mugabe spoke for the more radical opposition to US control, saying Washington and its allies cannot continue to "insist on being world policemen on the management of the Internet".
