When the International Chemical Information Conference started in 1989, it included papers on chemical structures that would have passed muster in leading cheminformatics journals. Over the years, the nature of the conference has changed. Chemistry is now in a subtitle and the meeting has become "ICIC - the International Conference for Science and Business Information".
