Theft is theft, even if it's a piece of cake that has been stolen. But you would not want to spend your valuable time stalking a cake thief while somebody else is stealing your cow. Nor would you, if you are a hunter, want to use up your arrows to pin down a porcupine while you could be bagging an antelope. Nor would you use a sledge hammer to kill a fly.
