Report sinks Deutsche Telekom

Deutsche Telekom, Europe's largest phone company and the parent of T-Mobile, swung to a $1.7 bil profit in Q3 vs. a loss of $1.6 bil a year ago. Sales rose 4.8% to $17.7 bil. But Telekom will spend $1.4 bil in '06 on product launches and client acquisitions. And it said its 3-year plan to slash 32,000 jobs won't be the end of payroll cuts. Shares fell 3% to 17.25.
