Tony Stewart is wrong. Dead wrong, for that matter. In fact, ol' Smoke could not be more wrong if he sat down and tried to be more wrong.
Stewart thinks we're all smart enough to see that everybody is still alive and well in NASCAR's second annual Chase for the Championship. He insists that until the numbers say otherwise, any of the 10 drivers eligible for the Nextel Cup seven weeks ago can still win it. According to him, 10th-ranked Jeremy Mayfield can gain 310 points in three races and be your 2005 champion. And Kurt Busch can rally from ninth to defend his 2004 title.
