Nov. 8--Laguna Phuket, a group of five deluxe hotels, has launched a "Phuket Is Back" campaign, aimed at encouraging tourists to visit during the high season that began recently.
Supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the provincial government, the campaign's message is that Phuket is back to normal following the impact of the tsunami last December.Occupancy levels at the five Laguna Phuket hotels support this claim. Average occupancy was close to 70 percent during October which is considered normal for this time of year, the hotel group said.
