Nov. 8--Thai corporations need to improve their ethics and internal workings to curb the possibility of fraud and prosper in future, says an executive of one of the country's largest business groups.
Sumet Tantivejkul, a director of Siam Cement, said Thai corporations should try to set standards that other countries in the world should follow.
"We tend to follow the standards set by western countries, despite the fact that our traditions and cultures are far older. Why don't we set the standards for the western countries to follow?" he said at the opening of a seminar on fraudulent practices in Thailand.
