I was a lazy kid. I grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and was so bored every summer, I'd end up watching TV and eating. I loved icy pops, which are all sugar. They come in boxes of 100 and I'd just down them like a champion.

When I was younger, I always thought of myself as fat. I hid my body by wearing two shirts which I definitely didn't take off when I went swimming. I was always very self-conscious. My older brother, Zach, teased me, but if anything he was just disappointed that I was gaining weight out of laziness. Even my dad would give me a stern talking-to about my weight every once in a while.
