Nov. 7--Retail investors are expected to dominate trade when the Thai derivatives market opens next year, in contrast to international markets where institutional investors are the major players.

Trade will likely be led by foreign brokers, given their greater experience with derivatives, according to Wiboon Perm-Arayawong, chief executive officer and president of Asia Credit.

Institutional investors, meanwhile, will likely be only bit players in the Thai market in the initial phases, particularly as transaction costs can be lower in other markets.
