Nov. 7--Steep production costs of automotive parts in the United States have led major suppliers to increasingly outsource manufacturing to Thai companies.

The movement is expected to gain momentum with the signing of an agreement to supply Thai-made auto parts to Across America Collision Parts Inc (AACP) of the US.

Through AACP, members of the Thai Auto Parts Manufacturing Association will gain access to the big three -- General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler -- and an opportunity to enter the US market.
