Nov. 5--European investment in Thailand is likely to increase as free trade negotiations continue and legislation changes to promote higher foreign participation.

"Thailand is considered to be the gateway for Asean by most EU countries but the trade figures show that EU investments in Malaysia and Singapore have been high as well, due to their openness. This may change going forward as new legislation is worked on," said Friedrich Hamburger, head of the Delegation of the European Commission correct to Thailand.
