Nov. 4--Households and factories using more than 150 units of electricity per month will face higher bills in the future under a policy shift aimed at passing on higher energy costs to end-users.
Energy Minister Viset Choopiban said fuel tariff adjustment charges, also known as the Ft, would be set at different rates in the future, with heavy users paying more than more conservation-minded households.
According to the Energy Ministry, out of 14 million electricity meters installed nationwide, nine million use fewer than 150 units (kilowatt-hours) per month, representing mostly poor households with limited use of indoor air-conditioning.
