Nov. 3--The Government Housing Bank will seek 30 billion baht worth of loans from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to finance the Baan Mankong project, a low-cost housing initiative developed by the Community Organisations Development Institute (CODI).
"Funding from the two international organisations carry a low financial cost. We have no major loans outstanding with either the World Bank or ADB right now, so we think they will support this programme, which is targeted directly at helping the poor," said GHB president Khan Prachuabmoh.
