Nov. 3--Third-generation mobile-phone technology, or 3G, will be the main focus for operators and customers alike in 2006, according to the president of Ericsson Thailand.

As much as 80 percent of new investment in Thai telecom infrastructure next year could be in 3G technology, said Hans O Karlsson, the president and country manger of Ericsson Thailand.
